Tesco Ampang Making The Right Moves

Hope everyone is in a cheerful mood (^_^)

I am really happy today because yesterday I clearly saw a positive sign that things might just be changing for a better future. Well, people have been slow to pick up here in Malaysia (kind of) compared to our Western counterparts.

Yesterday, wow yesterday... I went to do some grocery shopping at Tesco Ampang. At the checkout I saw a sign above the counter stating that every time anybody reuses a plastic bag or any other kind of bag they would give us 1 Tesco Clubcard point for every bag. *Yay!* Excellent excellent because for the past 2 months I have been using reusable totes every time I go to any grocery store. Beats having to carry so many plastic bags.

Not only that! On the opposite counter I saw this lady having I think the largest tote bag I've ever seen *I absolutely love humongous totes* putting her groceries in her tote. It was to me a great sight since I always felt alone when I would pull out my totes to put my groceries in. Everyone would stare! I mean, what's the big deal!

More great news... About a month ago, Tesco Ampang also opened a recycling place within the parking vicinity. Extremely convenient. Love the effort. I have been waiting long enough for somewhere close by to bring my recyclables! Plus, they are buying them off us at good prices.

"Dalai Lama" Wise Words

The Banana Test

The Banana Test

There is a very, very tall coconut tree and there are 4 animals.

King Kong, an Ape, an Orangutan and a Monkey pass by.
They decide to compete to see who is the fastest to get a banana off the tree.
Who do you guess will win?
Your answer will reflect your personality.
Think carefully . . . Try and answer within 30 seconds

Got your answer?

Now scroll down to see the analysis.

If your answer is:

Orangutan
= you're dull & normal

Ape
= you're a moron

Monkey
= worse, you're an idiot

King Kong
= you're hopelessly stupid

......

Why?! ????

......

A Coconut tree doesn't have bananas!
;-)
Obviously you're stressed and overworked.
Take some time off and relax!

Mini Lobsters

*I got this in an email recently. It sounds too gross to keep to myself so I posted it.*

Please be on your alert for this food item...
It may infect your lung.

Do not eat these mini lobsters.

These mini crustaceans are literally the garbage cleaners in the sewage treatment plants.

The 'dirtier' the water, the fatter these mini lobsters become.

Their lungs are full of worms and their flesh saturated with poisonous metals.

Unscrupulous merchants somehow found a way to get these marketed to eateries.

Do not order this dish.
Pass this to those friends who may want to try these mini 'lobsters'.

Facts About Cancer

PLEASE SPARE 10 MINUTES TO READ THIS

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (TRY THE KEY WORD) AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.

  1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
  2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
  3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
  4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to
  5. genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
  6. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
  7. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
  8. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
  9. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
  10. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
  11. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
  12. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.
  13. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar, is a cancer-feeder.

By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like Nutrasweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt. ( THE WEST MADE US 2 CHANGE FROM SEA 2 WHITE IODISED SALT )

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus.

By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment.

A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains

livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment.

About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)..

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.

Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water- best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

  • Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.
  • Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
  • Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Florssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
  • Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.

Anger, unforgivingness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

PLEASE READ ON

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2.. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medic al Centeras well. Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.

Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital was on a TV program to explain this health hazard.

He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food.

You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead..

This is an article that should be sent to all in your life,

I am doing so now.

Filling Up Petrol With Smart Tactics

I sooo know that this is worth sharing... especially since the world's oil prices are skyrocketing.

So here is the email I received:

I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol... but here in Durban, we are also paying high for petrol, up to 47.35 per litre of petrol. But my line of work is in a petroleum company for about 40 years, so here are some tricks to get mroe of your money's worth for every litre of petrol.

Here at the Marini Hike pipeline, where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million litres of petroleum in a 24 hour period through the pipeline.

One day is diesel, the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34 petroleum storage tanks here with a total capacity 16,800,000 litres.

Tip #1

Only buy or fill up your cars or motorbikes in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all petrol stations have their petrol storage tanks below the ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer, petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening, your litre is not exactly a litre of petrol.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol, and other petroleum product play an important role. A one degree rise in temperature is a big deal for the petroleum business. But the petrol stations do not have temperature compensation at the petrol pumps.

Tip #2

When you are filling up petrol, do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look, you will see that the trigger has 3 stages: low, middle, & high. In slow mode, you should be pumping petrol on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the petrol pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on a fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your petrol tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up & back into the underground storage tank so you are getting less worth for your money.

Tip #3

One of the most important tips is to fill up petrol when your tank is half full. The reason for this is, the more petrol you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof, this roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.
Unlike petrol stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

Tip #4

Another reminder, is there is a fuel truck pumping into the petrol storage tanks, then you stop to buy, do not fill up. Most likely the petrol is bring stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom of the petrol storage tanks.

Hope this will help you get the maximum value for your money. Please share this information with others! Lets share information & benefit all, for the better of mankind.

A New Crime Created...

I received this in an email from a Yahoo! group from KL.

I'm not sure about the credibility of this story but to be on the safe side I thought I'd let you know about it.

I am sure you have all heard about "pick pocketing". Well, there's supposedly a new crime trend in KL called instead as "push pocketing".

A probable scenario of a push pocketing incident would probably go like this:
  • Somebody slips a hand phone or a wallet with an identity card & a few ringgits into your pocket without you realising.
  • A few minutes later, the 'owner' comes up & confronts you, the 'thief'.
  • He makes a big commotion that you stole his stuff.
  • You, caught unaware, are then pulled aside by the 'owner' for a settlement.
  • You are then intimidated & threatened that if you do not pay up, the police will be called in.
  • If you pay up, this 'owner' lets you go. If not, the police are called in.
  • Another strange thing is that there always seems to be a 'witness' to your 'theft'.
  • The source of this story has been told that it often happens to foreigners at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) & even on LRT trains.
  • Given that you're 'guilty until proven innocent', as far as the Malaysian police are concerned, the source understands that some poor people are in jail for these 'offences'.
  • At the KLIA, the 'owner' throws his hand phone & wallet with a few ringgit notes into the luggage trolley of a newly arrived passenger.
  • The drama unfolds a few minutes later.
  • The real culprit has easily convinced the Malaysian police to arrest the real victim (if he has not paid up the 'settlement' demand).
This is another form of extortionists operating in broad daylight.
They are disgusting criminals who will do anything to steal form innocent people.
The sickening part of the whole scenario is that unless you pay the "quoted settlement" money, they will put you in real trouble by calling the police.
The real culprit gets back his hand phone & wallet but the real victim (i.e. could be anyone of us) is thrown into the police lock-up & charged in court.

This (if it is real) is not to be taken lightly.
So do be very careful, otherwise you may end up as a "thief" as you have no way to prove your innocence.
